Not long ago, I started out on a quest to see if I could get a great-looking logo for less than $100. I followed this up with a series of post on how to find, select and communicate with your logo designer.
I’ve spent the last two weeks working with Alexandre and Rita, a design team based in Portugal, on putting together a new logo for Gigtime New Media. They’ve created somewhere near 50 different logos or variations for me and we’re down to the two finalists. Both are essentially the same logo with one small difference which you’ll see below.
Set A (shown in four variations below) uses a cursor arrow on the bullseye/target image. (You can click on either set to see a full-size image)

Set B uses a hand mouse pointer instead of the arrow.

Which do you prefer? Set A or B? You’re welcome to comment on the variations (B1-4) if you like but I just need to know if you prefer A or B. Let me know by leaving a comment below. By the way, if you landed here from Facebook and want to weigh in, I’d really appreciate it if you’d post a comment on the blog rather than just on Facebook. That way, people coming here from other places can see your remarks.
If it’s your first time leaving a comment, it will be held briefly for moderation to prevent spam. After your first time, your comment will appear immediately. Thanks in advance for your help!
I like set ‘A’ better….hugs, elaine
Thanks, Elaine! Big hugs to you, too!
I like set A Bill!
Thanks, Brandi!
Hey Bill, I think set A looks good
Rich
Thanks, Rich! It looks like A is pulling into an early lead.
Hi Bill, I like Set B better because it makes me feel like pressing the button.
Thanks, Nancy! And that’s a good point since taking action is what we want people to do.
I like set B.
It feels tactile. Like I was pressing a button. Like I made the ripples happen with my own finger. Like I’m touching your brand instead of being shown it with an arrow IMHO.
Hey Beth! Good to hear from you. You and Nancy (above) have the same reaction. The designer came up with the arrow although initially it was just the triangle without the ‘tail’ and it was black. I asked them to create it like you see here and asked for the hand version.
I like set B better because the hand makes it feels more like I’m dealing with a person. Feels warmer to me.
Cheers, Bill.
Heidi
Thanks, Heidi! A had an early lead but B has just pulled even.
I like the hands on feel of the B choice, like Nancy and Beth. (HUGS) to you Bill
Thanks, MJ! I appreciate the feedback and the hug. 😉
Bill, it’s set B that wins it for me. Specifically B2. I like how it feels like my finger is pressing the easy button of my target. That sort of feel…Nice colors and very clean. Totally worth every penny! Well done. 🙂
Looks like I’m not the only one doing a little re-branding, eh, Stacie? 🙂 Thanks, that’s exactly the feel I’m going for.
I like B. It feels personal.
Thanks, Susan!
Hands. More personal. B.
Thank you, Martha! B is running away with it but I’d like to get more votes.
I felt personally connected with Set B, liking the darker colored version there. The hand wins in MY vote….pardon the pun…Hands DOWN! GGGrin!
I like B better 🙂 Love that you asked…
Becky
Thanks, Becky!
B with the hand, and I like the white, more close up and personal B3!~
Hugs,
KK
Thanks, KK!
I like “A,” Bill. They are all really excellent, however. Very professional.
Thanks for weighing in, Jill!
First impression gave me ‘A’ but looking at it moved me to ‘B’.
I’m voting B. Feels like a more interactive/personal logo.
Thanks, Jeremy! And B is the one I’m going with.
I prefer ‘B’ and most prefered ‘B2’
Thanks Radha, B2 was actually the one we went with. You can see the final version here: http://www.billhibbler.gigtime.com/outsourcing/logo-project-mission-accomplished/
